Ask me your questions

Your need to know about the framework for collaborative self-consulting is important. I think that this need is a value, because if you do not ask, additional knowledge will never come to you.

I can start answering the questions for free, but specific problems can require negotiating the conditions of this work with me and/or with others from the consultant directory.

If you disagree with me, have additional thoughts, different opinions, sub questions, etc. – please comment - it is collaborative self-consulting.

You may be just the person I need to help me solve a mystery, about the meaning of a word that I have been unable to find ANYWHERE on the internet-including on sites that purport to translate words from Russian into English.

"Provornen"-that's the word. I think, though I'm not totally sure, that it's a Russian word. The only place I've seen it listed on anything that was on the web, was in a Russian play, where it was a word in parentheses in a line that was evidently not a line of dialoque, but was descriptive of the action of that particular moment in the play action.

Despite seeing this, and in a search of Google that seemed to intimate that it might be also a proper name, I have yet been unable to find an interpretation of it. Not anywhere.

As for my reason for curiosity, I heard this word in a dream, in which it was a persons name- "Michael Provornen".

So anyway, whether or not it is a proper name, my question is, what would be the exact meaning of the word if it were tranlated into English. I would appreciate any help you might provide in solving this mystery.

I think you’re asking about "provornyi (in Russian: проворный)" (though I don't know exact transliteration):

Проворный - adj. 1. quick, swift, expeditious. 2. agile, nimble, adroit, dexterous.

Thanks, Nikolay. The similarity is such that, even if it's not exactly the same word, the meanings are probably very similar as well. Much appreciated.

The dream in which I heard the word in connection to a name came to me after spending some time studying the murder of Chandra Levy, which occurred in the states some time back. Perhaps you are somewhat familiar with it. It dominated the cable news networks in America in the months preceeding 9/11.

Maybe it means absolutely nothing of any significance, but it's still good to know. Appreciate your help. Also, I've bookmarked your blog, I may at some future time add you to my blogroll. Good luck to you.

Nikolay, I've got you on my blogroll now, though I still have to make sure the link works, which I'm sure it will. Feel free to visit my blog and comment anytime.

In fact, my latest post concerns Rasputin, and perhaps if you have time you might shed some light on the subject. I'm sure my readers would be interested in your perspective. It concerns the "sacred relic" that has been on display at a museum in Saint Petersburg.

I don’t know how Rasputin and self-consulting can be connected.

They're not, really, just thought it might be a way for you to point others to your blog in case they don't notice the blogroll, if you want. But if you don't that's cool.
