"Remember, you do not "do KM" you use KM methods and tools ..." Why?

It's a slide from Dave Snowden's Moscow presentation on Knowledge Management.

I really can't understand why only use of KM methods and tools is possible? Maybe you know?

Read it Nikolay, in full and you might get it. It says that KM methods and tools have no value in themselves unless they are applied to business objectives. It does not say that business objectives can only be satisfied by KM methods and tools.

Were you there by the way? If so you should have declared yourself

No, Dave, I wasn't there and don't know where in Moscow it was.

I only know about this KM initiative in Moscow - kmclub.ru , though I don't watch them.

"applied to business objectives" - KM is still neutral, unfortunately.

In my question I meant why people can't invent or do (only use) KM method and tools?
